Even though we may be few in number, it is hoped that this web-site
will inspire people of color (and all people) to make inquiries
about Yoganandas path of Kriya
Yoga, the scientific technics of Yoga and Meditation that were
brought to the modern world by the great masters of India in 1861.
Paramhansa
Yogananda wrote the following about Kriya Yoga in his Autobiography
of a Yogi, "Introspection, or sitting in the silence
is an unscientific way of trying to force apart the mind and senses,
tied together by the life force. The contemplative mind, attempting
its return to divinity, is constantly dragged back toward the senses
by the life currents. Kriya, controlling the mind directly through
the life force, is the easiest, most effective, and most scientific
avenue of approach to the Infinite. In contrast to the slow, uncertain,
'bullock cart' theological path to God, Kriya may justly be called
the 'airplane' route."
The following articles, stories, anecdotes, photographs, audio-tapes,
and videos in this website were compiled from various resources
which are in the public domain.
It is hoped that this information will be enlightening to new comers,
regardless of their cultural background, as well as to long-time
followers of Yoganandas teachings. May those who are guided
to this site, be inspired as a channel of Gods Blessings to
the world!
