Highlights on Kriya Yoga - Kriya Yoga Initiation with Dhyana

I was thinking today what a blessing it is to be here in the land where Kriya Yoga originated, where it came from the ether to the great masters who called to God. Think of all the great ones who walked this land of India and left their vibrations: Shankara, Buddha, Patanjali, Krishna, all of our great Masters-- Lahiri Mahasaya, Christ, Sri Yukteswarji, Yoganandaji.

All the Masters are omnipresent; they're still here. But Babaji said, "I'll be in the Himalayas whether you see me or not." Lahiri Mahasaya said, "I will be with my Gurudeva, Babaji, in the Himalayas." Wherever the Masters are, their light, their vibrations are raining upon us. They came for this moment when we would receive the teachings of liberation, of Kriya Yoga.

Master said that Krishna, Jesus, and the different Gurus of our path, taught and practiced Kriya Yoga and gave it to their disciples. He said that he brought the same teachings-- the keys to how to find God. And he promised to reveal God to those who stick with this path and practice what he gave. An incredible promise!

The keys aren't keys you pull out of your pocket. The keys are the ancient techniques. Many masters can speak of God and how wonderful it all is, but how many come to bring the step-by-step practical way to realize your highest self in God?

Master said Kriya is the airplane route. You get on the plane and you take off. We're still on the tarmac. We're waiting! But he said that if you get on that plane, you will have the power of the Gurus behind you, and they will reveal God to you in this lifetime if we strive. Imagine it--in this lifetime!

The Masters, through their teachings and through their power, change you. Remember the time when Swamiji was with Master and felt he had done so much himself to change? But then Master said to a group of people, "Look how I have changed Walter. Look how I have changed everyone in this room."

The Guru asks very little-- practice Kriya. Practice what I give you, which means all the techniques of energization, Hong Sau, AUM and the Kriya pranayama--practice Kriya. And meditate. Meditate.

He asks not only that we practice what he gave, but that we live it. We all should be walking testimonials of the power of Kriya Yoga, of these Gurus, of their teachings.  If you're not, then something is wrong. Tests come and go; people come and go. We see our friends come and go, but our prayer is that we will stick with the path until the very end.

Master said millions will find God through Kriya. He would look at people and say, "Even you." The he'd say, "I don't know how!" Some of us here - we also don't know how! But then he'd say, "Divine Mother says it, so it must be so."

Krishna said in the Bhagavad Gita, "Out of a thousand seeks me and out of the thousand that seek me, perhaps one knows me."  I used to think--"That's just terrible!" "That's not a very good percentage." But then I heard Yoganandaji on a tape quoting these words of Krishna. And he said, "Our percentages are better!"

You know why? Look at what we have. This is the lifetime where we've drawn the grace of five avatars guiding our footsteps. We've drawn the grace of an incredible technique of Kriya where you withdraw the energy away from the senses, away from the surface of the body, from all the emotions, all the negativity.

People go around, they think, "I'm living a good life." They're not living a good life. Look at their faces! The face of one who loves God is soft.  The eyes are sweet. There's power, yes. It's the face of Divine Mother.

The Gurus came to bring us the vibration to withdraw from all the worldly pulls, back into flowing inner river. It's very, very, very good karma to be here in this room--to be seeking God and receiving the keys from the Guru.

I remember once, many years ago, I was meditating. I had a big picture of Yoganandaji. And I just thought, "I've heard it. I've read it." I asked him, "Will I ever get to that point of realizing God?"  I was shocked. The response came right away: "Of course you will! Don't doubt it for a minute."

Doubts make a veil over our eyes. Whether you find Him or not, just live in the joy. I love God. I live for God. My life is for God. My devotion is for God. My offerings are for God. My work--my everything. I have no other reason to live. All of us here tonight came because the Guru said, "Come now, and you can burn up a lot of karma. And I will help you."

Swamiji said the other day, "The Masters reach through time and space to help you." Imagine it. They reach through time and space for us! We think, "Well, my 25 percent, his percent 25, and 50 percent Divine Mother." Swamiji said that you have no idea what it means to have that help from the Guru, to have the help from Divine Mother. He said it's enormous.

But we have to do our part, and that means everyday setting aside the time to practice what Master gave. I was thinking today, instead of coffee break, have a Kriya break. Swamiji said that Guruji said to do a few Kriyas any time during the day. You're feeling of out of sorts? Do a few Kriyas. In another one of his tapes, Swamiji said that Kriya gets to be "delicious." He says you don't want to move; it's just so sweet.

And so we offer ourselves everyday with devotion, with love, and the Guru helps us. Master said, "My blessings are there. God's blessing is there." And let's not think that our 25 percent is little. It's everything you've got, everyday. And then, when we leave our meditation--and I love this beautiful thought that Dharmadas came up --we practice Kriya Yoga in action.

We can't go off to the Himalayas this lifetime. We've probably all been there before. I love what Swamiji said in one recent talk. He said, "Everybody's running off to the Himalayas to the caves." He said, "There're not enough caves to go around."

We have family responsibilities. We have jobs. Lahiri Mahasaya was an accountant before he met Babaji. When he received Kriya diksha from Babaji, he went into samadhi for a week. When he came out of samadhi, Babaji told him go back to work. And he was an accountant for 25 more years.

This is our life. This lifetime do your meditation. Give your life to God. Serve God. Help others. Bring that vibration into everything you do, and you will find that ever-new joy. Chant it--joy, joy, joy, ever-new joy! The undercurrent of a devotee's life is always joy. No matter what happens that undercurrent of joy is always there. Go for a dip in that joy. Do your Kriyas everyday and one day a week have a long meditation where nobody disturbs you. Turn off the mobile phone and just sit and swim with the Gurus in the ocean of God. And you will find that their face appears and you go into bliss.

Kriya means action. Yoga is union. We do this particular action to go into the union with God, into His bliss.  The little wave merges with the ocean of God's bliss. God bless us all.
